Kilkenny Workshop - October 13th

Hello there, I told you I'd talk soon so here's a peek for those who couldn't make it at the cards from the workshop I gave in Kilkenny this morning.  The workshop took place at Craftybride in the Kilkenny Retail Outlet Centre and a huge number of people turned out for it so thanks to everyone who came along.  I hope you enjoyed the class and more importantly liked the cards!

This card is made using a Craft Creations Decoupage image called 'shepherd in a manger'.
The beautiful ribbon is from May Arts and is available at Craftybride in Kilkenny.
This card is made using a topper from the new Cupcake Crafting CD 'Magical Chritmas Moments'.
There are a beautiful selection of images on this cd and it is well worth the purchase.
The flourish is a cherylynn corner flourish, cut and adapted to go straight instead of on the corner.
This card is made using a 6" scalloped card and a digi image called 'Winter Emma & the Chickadee' from Fred she said.  Fred she said carry a fabulous range of beautifully coloured images and are all available to buy on-line.

I'm Back!!

Hello to everyone and sorry that its been such a long time since I've posted. It's not that I haven't been crafting its just that since becoming Federation President for Kilkenny I.C.A. back in May, I have been very busy and am on the road a lot, so when I make cards they are generally last minute and are shipped off to the customers before I even think about blogging them.  I will make an effort to keep it up to date again now that I've found the time to log on as I know myself that it is always lovely to see what people are up to and what the trends of the moment are.

A Big 00 Achievement!

This card is the card I made for one of my crafting friends Patricia who celebrated her 60th (or as she likes to call it 00) Birthday last weekend.  It is a landscape easel card using a decoupage image from craftsuprint. She had a great big party in Old Leighlin which I couldn't make as I was at a Wedding the same night.  I think she liked it!  Happy Birthday Patricia and wishing you many more to come.

Also, this is the card I made for my niece's confirmation a few weeks ago.  I finally downloaded the picture.

Confirmation & Retirement

Good Morning everybody.  Below are two cards I made last night.
The first is a confirmation card made using a decoupage topper from the 'Reddy range.

This is a retirement card for a nurse.  The addition of Mr. Tayto is something funny that is personal to a story between the sender and receiver so I hope she likes it.

Bon Voyage!

Hi all, below are my cards for this week.
The first is a card I done for my brother who headed off to Australia for a year last night.  Australia for a year sounds like a wonderful thought but when it comes to saying good bye to someone you think the world of, a year seems like a very long time.  But still I hope he has a wonderful year full of much opportunity and happiness and plenty of sunshine!!!  Bon Voyage Joseph.
The second card of I have is a pic of the confirmation invitations I done for my Godchild Rebecca who made her confirmation last weekend.  It contains a picture of herself and is made using a marianne designable to cut and emboss the pattern and a few small embellishments to finish. I'll upload the photo of the card I made for her on the day when I get round to downloading it off the camera.  I couldn't scan it as it was dimensional so its on the camera and I'm sure I'll get round to it at some stage in the near future.

Everything comes in 3's!

Hi everyone, here are three retirement cards that I done today.  They are for three nurses retiring on Tuesday next from Kilcreene Hospital in Kikenny and their colleagues asked my husband if I would do them after the Thank You cards I had done for them a few weeks ago following his mother's knee operation.  Hope you like them!

Kilkenny Craft Club ~ February 15th

We all had a wonderful night at Kilkenny Craft Club on Wednesday night last.  Ann Kirwan was teaching the class and she done a beautiful card with us showing us how to make all the individual handmade paper flowers.  This is my card in the pic below and not half as nice as Ann's one but you'll get the idea. Thanks Ann!

This is a close up of the flowers on their own.

Also, Marion Kilbride has also opened her new Wedding Stationary and Craft shop in the Kilkenny Retail Outlet in James Street in Kilkenny so Best of Luck in your new venture Marion.  Here's a card I made for Marion to celebrate the opening of 'Crafty Bride Wedding Invitation Studio'

Hi Everyone!

Hi there - its been a while since I've been on. Its always seems to be busy...busy...busy.   Below are a few cards I've been making.

This is a Justin Bieber card that I made for my Goddaughter Rebecca for her 12th Birthday.  I used a small pics of Justin to create a collage background and then put a portrait of her on the front.  Below then is the inside of the card with a Justin Bieber message for her.  Happy Birthday Rebecca!!

This is one of the invitations we done for her party for people could wear them as lanyards.  She gave out the invites in the form of presenting them to her friends and the kids loved the idea immensely.

These two cards are thank you cards that I made for my mother-in-law for the staff at Kilcreene Hospital following her operation for a knee replacement.

This card is one I done at the craft club in Kikenny some time ago that I hadn't put up.  They were made using products from the Cameo range and including some lattice work on the topper backgrounds.
Thats al for now folks! Hope to be back soon.....

KK Cardmaking Club resumes for 2012!

Hi to all crafters,
We were back at the Kilkenny Cardmaking Club tonight in Kilkenny with everybody enthusiastic about getting back to their cardmaking after the Christmas lul.  I was on for teaching and I done a card using the 'Amelia' topper from the Pretty Sweet CDrom that is recently out from Polka Doodles.  Hope you like it!

'Amelia' Topper using labels twenty nestabilities to cut it out
and backing papers from the CD.  The greeting is not from the CD.

We held a meeting after the class and it has been decided to cut back on our teaching nights and have more social classes instead so we will give this a try for a few weeks and see how it goes.  This way we will be able to work more with individuals, observe the different ways that others might do something, share ideas and help each other out more.  The Club meets every Wednesday night at 7:30p.m in the Clubhouse Hotel in Kilkenny and new members are always welcome, so do come along.

Just to finish here are some cards that I have been working on recently.  I must really make an effort to take photo's of cards for the New Year - they are often gone off with people before I think of it and it is nice to have some pictures to go back on for ideas again afterwards.

This is a double easel card which was for a couple celebrating their 60th Birthday at the same time.
One of them is into Tennis and the other Golf so I used each side of the easel to distinguish the two sports.

Baby Girl Card made using the Joanna Sheen CD 'Baby Love'

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year to everybody and here's hoping that 2012 will be filled with lots of wonderful times and many happy memories.

Kilkenny Craft Club - Catch Up!

Kilkenny Craft Club had a great night at their Christmas Party Night in the Clubhouse Hotel.  The group were joined by Bernie Keane from BK Crafts in Dungarvan and her friend Midi Walsh.  After a lovely dinner Bernie opened her shop for the group and Midi gave a beautiful card demonstration to the group.  It is hoped that some of the group will travel to Dungarvan to attend some of the girls monthly craft groups.  Hopefully this will be the start of a great friendship between the two clubs.

On the last Wednesday of the club before our party night, Patricia O'Leary gave the regular Wednesday night class and here is a picture of her card.
